Dr. Nina Joy Mena is a highly accomplished psychiatrist and motivational speaker, dedicated to helping individuals overcome mental health challenges and live fulfilling lives. With a wealth of experience in the field of psychiatry, Dr. Mena has become a respected authority on a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, and addiction.

Dr. Mena was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. She then went on to earn her medical degree at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed her residency in psychiatry at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and her fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Mena is board-certified in both General Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is licensed to practice in both Georgia and Iowa. Dr. Mena worked as Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at the Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) for four years and was the Associate Program Director of the MSM Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program for the 2022-2023 academic year. Dr. Mena is dedicated to teaching and mentoring trainees and students from undergraduates to fellow physicians and has continued on as Adjunct Faculty with MSM.

Throughout her career, Dr. Mena has been committed to providing compassionate and effective care to every patient she works with. She has a deep understanding of the challenges that individuals face when dealing with mental health issues and works tirelessly to help them overcome these challenges. She is currently the Chief Medical Officer of CHRIS 180, a community mental health center where she has sees a variety of patients from ages 3 and up for the past five years. She was also selected as the first psychiatrist to work at the Morehouse School of Medicine Student Health & Wellness Clinic where she treated college students of the Atlanta University Center Consortium from 2021-2023. Dr. Mena is also a sought-after speaker and has given numerous presentations on topics related to mental health and wellness.

In addition to her work in psychiatry, Dr. Mena is passionate about empowering individuals to live their lives to the fullest. She believes that everyone has the potential to achieve their goals and is dedicated to helping others unlock their full potential. As a motivational speaker, Dr. Mena shares her expertise and insights with audiences around the world, inspiring them to take action and make positive changes in their lives.

Dr. Mena is the founder and owner of NJoy LIFE, Living In Full Empowerment LLC, a leading provider of psychiatric and motivational speaking services. Through her business, Dr. Mena is able to reach a wide audience and provide the support and guidance that individuals need to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives. Her commitment to excellence and dedication to her patients and to the black community have made her a respected leader in the field of psychiatry and a sought-after speaker and motivator.

Dr. Mena is also a wife and proud mother to three boys (ages 1, 3, and 12), an avid runner, world traveler, and member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
